Orphaned baby dugong loves cuddles from marine biologists

Marine biologists in Thailand are using cuddles to feed an orphaned baby dugong named Mariam. She was found stranded on a beach in May when she was only six-months-old. Since then, the ocean mammal has been taken care of by park officials, local conservation groups, and veterinarians at Phuket Marine Biological Centre.

Mariam became an internet sensation after photos showing her being cradled by the vets surfaced on social media. Since then, the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) has updated people frequently on her condition.
