Marshall Grain Co.’s annual Pooch Pool Party invites four-leggers to cool off from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Along with a grassy play area and wading pools there will be baths for donations, vendors, games and raffle prizes. The lineup also includes free refreshments and treats for hounds and humans, including local craft beers, and live music by Devin Leigh. Vaccination Station will offer low-cost shots and heartworm testing for dogs and cats from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit DFW Pug Rescue. 3525 William D. •Help celebrate the grand opening of the Barney Wood Bark Park in Farmers Branch from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. After a welcome from Mayor Robert C. Dye, police dog Bullet will perform the first fetch. Cedar Creek Brewhouse & Eatery will sell food and drinks. Along with areas for large and small dogs, the park has a doubled-gated entry, a splash pad, lighting and ample seating. For ages 10 and up (those 10-15 need to be with an adult). 14090 Heartside Place. Free, with donations collected for the dog park.
