A dog had to learn how to eat again after having part of his jaw removed because of cancer.

Sam the Labrador now needs to have his food blended into liquid after his owner, Vicci Roberts discovered a growth on his gums.

Vets discovered it was cancerous and the 12-year-old pooch had to have surgery to remove a large part of his lower jaw.

Now cancer free, Vicci from Wrexham has had to help Sam adapt to a new way of life learning how to eat and drink again, as his tongue now sticks out permanently.

She said: “I first found a growth on Sam’s gums a few years ago, so we took him to our local vet practice, Vets4Pets Wrexham, Plas Coch, where the team confirmed through tests that it was benign and removed it.
